CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Inaugurates Second Floor of All India Uttarakhand Dharamshala in Tirthraj Pushkar, Ajmer

Announces Additional ₹50 Lakh Grant; Earlier ₹1 Crore Already Provided for Construction

Ajmer: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday inaugurated the newly constructed second floor of the All India Uttarakhand Dharamshala Ashram at Tirthraj Pushkar in Ajmer, Rajasthan. The ceremony witnessed the presence of a large number of expatriate Uttarakhand residents, local citizens, and representatives from various organizations.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Dhami expressed deep reverence for Lord Brahma, describing it as a blessing to visit the sacred land of Tirthraj Pushkar. He said that the spiritual significance of Pushkar—one of the Panchteerth along with Kurukshetra, Haridwar, Gaya, and Prayag—makes it the “guru of all pilgrimage sites.”

He added that Pushkar is not merely a pilgrimage destination but an enduring symbol of Sanatan culture, inspiring humanity towards righteousness, penance, sacrifice, and noble virtues. Becoming emotional, the Chief Minister shared that his parents named him Pushkar, possibly influenced by the spiritual aura of this sacred place.

CM Dhami thanked the organizing committee and expatriate Uttarakhandis, saying he felt as if he was “among family from Devbhoomi, not outside Uttarakhand.” He expressed confidence that the Dharamshala would serve as an important resting place for devotees and strengthen the cultural and social ties between Uttarakhand and Rajasthan.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister announced an additional grant of ₹50 lakh for the Dharamshala. He also recalled that the Uttarakhand government had earlier provided a ₹1 crore grant for its construction.

Highlighting India’s spiritual resurgence under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, CM Dhami said that projects such as the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, Mahakal Lok, and the reconstruction of the Kedarnath–Badrinath shrines have revitalized the global identity of Bharat’s Sanatan heritage.

He said Uttarakhand, under the guidance of PM Modi, is also undertaking major projects including:

  • Beautification of Kedarkhand and Manaskhand temple regions

  • Shri Krishna–Yamuna Pilgrimage Circuit

  • Haridwar–Rishikesh Corridor

  • Sharda Corridor

  • Establishment of the Center for Hindu Studies at Doon University

Reiterating his government’s commitment to preserving the cultural identity of Devbhoomi, CM Dhami said several decisive steps have been taken:

  • Strict anti-conversion law implemented

  • Strong action against activities like land jihad, love jihad, and spitting jihad

  • Anti-riot law ensuring perpetrators pay for damages

  • Reclamation of 10,000+ acres of illegally encroached government land

  • Uttarakhand becomes first state to implement Uniform Civil Code (UCC)

  • Madrasa Board abolished; standardized state curriculum made mandatory

  • Closure of 250+ illegal madrasas

  • Operation Kalnemi launched against anti-social elements disguised at religious sites

He emphasized that the government aims not to create centers of separatist ideology but temples of learning, culture, and national integration.

CM Dhami urged Uttarakhandis living across the country to preserve and promote their rich cultural heritage, traditions, and identity. “Our vision is to establish Uttarakhand as the spiritual capital of India. With unwavering resolve, we are moving ahead, and every Uttarakhandi will play a crucial role in this journey,” he said.
