Directs Officials to Remain on High Alert Amid IMD Warning
Dehradun – Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has urged officials to remain extremely vigilant in the coming days, citing a fresh alert from the Meteorological Department. Chairing a high-level review meeting on Saturday, the Chief Minister assessed the ongoing disaster relief and rescue operations across the state, instructing all departments to keep the disaster management system in constant readiness to handle any emergency situation.
Dhami emphasized that all precautionary measures must be taken to protect lives and property in disaster-prone and sensitive areas. “No one has control over natural disasters, but timely action can minimize loss. Our relief and rescue teams are performing commendable work by reaching ground zero without delay,” he said, urging all departments to maintain the same level of readiness and coordination.
Key Directives from the Chief Minister
-
Continuous Support to Districts: District Magistrates have been assured of all necessary assistance from the state government to strengthen ongoing relief and rescue efforts.
-
Roads and Basic Amenities: Special attention is to be paid to restoring roads, repairing essential infrastructure, and ensuring uninterrupted water and electricity supply, especially with the Char Dham Yatra and festival season approaching. Addressing the situation in Syanachatti, the Chief Minister noted that debris had increased the water level of the river. The Secretary of Disaster Management and Rehabilitation has been tasked with promptly responding to district-level demands and ensuring smooth allocation of resources.
