Elara Capital Group CEO Raj Bhatt Commends Dehradun Administration’s Model Intensive Care Centre for Transforming Lives of Vulnerable Children

Dehradun: Elara Capital Group London CEO and Founder Raj Bhatt on Wednesday visited Sadhu Ram Inter College, Raja Road, where the state’s first Model Intensive Care Centre is being run by the Dehradun District Administration to eradicate child beggary and integrate vulnerable children into mainstream education.
During the visit, Bhatt interacted with the children and reviewed the facilities along with District Magistrate Savin Bansal. He lauded the district administration for its innovative, impactful, and compassionate initiative aimed at rescuing children from the streets and providing them access to education and holistic development.
Bhatt, who hails from Champawat, Uttarakhand and is now a successful London-based entrepreneur, expressed commitment to supporting the initiative. “These efforts to end child begging and bring children back into education are inspiring and exemplary. I will extend every possible contribution to strengthen this model,” he said.

A Transformative Model Centre
DM Savin Bansal detailed that the Model Intensive Care Centre has been established with the objective of preventing child abuse, ending beggary, and ensuring long-term educational integration. The center follows a micro-planning approach, focusing on counseling, literacy, technical skills, music, yoga, and sports activities to help children transition smoothly into school life.
The district administration runs the center through an MoU with voluntary organizations Aasra, Samparn, and Sarfina.
258 Children Rescued, Integrated into Schools
So far, the administration has rescued 258 children, including:

82 child beggars

63 child laborers
-
113 ragpickers
All have now been integrated into mainstream education. At present, 51 children (29 boys and 22 girls) are studying at the center.
Out of these:

30 are enrolled at GPS/GUPS Parade Ground

19 at Sadhu Ram Inter College

2 at GPS Mathurawala
The entire cost of their education is borne by the district administration. Regular health check-ups are conducted by the RBSK team.
Infrastructure Improvements Ordered
DM Bansal instructed the school management to expedite:

Providing space for construction of the first floor of the Centre building

Repairing the footpath, railing, and toilets

Ensuring regular cleaning of the school through outsourcing
Chief Development Officer Abhinav Shah, Assistant Director (Information) Badri Chandra Negi, District Probation Officer Meena Bisht, and other officials were present during the visit.
