DEHRADUN: In view of the severe outbreak of cold wave, DM Dehradun Savin Bansal issued an order that all educational institutions up to class 12 in the district can be operated only after 8:30 am. This arrangement will continue till 31 January, 2025.
In his order the DM mentioned that as a result of winter in full swing across the state, at present there is a severe outbreak of cold wave in the district as well. Due to which the general public has been affected by severe cold, frost and fog. In the same sequence, according to the weather forecast issued by the Meteorological Department, Dehradun, the cold is likely to remain as it is for the coming days.
Due to frost and shallow fog in most areas of the district, it is natural to have severe cold. Due to which the health of school students and children coming to Anganwadi centers can be adversely affected. Keeping this in mind, it is necessary to take necessary precautions in all educational institutions and Anganwadi centers under the district till further orders and to change the timing of operation of educational institutions.
It is emphasised in the order that all government/semi-government, private schools up to class 12 and all Anganwadi centers in the district can be operated only after 08:30 am till 31 January 2025.
The Chief Education Officer and District Program Officer will ensure compliance of the order.
