Dehradun District Administration to Organize Doon Marathon, Hot Air Balloon and Paragliding on 7 November as Part of Statehood Silver Jubilee Celebrations
DEHRADUN: As part of the ongoing events marking the Silver Jubilee of Uttarakhand’s Statehood, the Dehradun district administration will organize a series of exciting activities on 7 November 2025. The events include the Doon Marathon, Hot Air Balloon rides, and Paragliding, bringing together fitness, adventure and community participation.
Doon Marathon at 6:30 AM
The Doon Marathon will begin at 6:30 AM from the Pavilion Ground, where District Magistrate Savin Bansal will flag off the run.

The marathon route will start at Pavilion Ground, proceed up to NIVH on Rajpur Road, and return to the starting point.

Around 700 young participants have registered for the marathon this year.

After the race concludes, the District Magistrate will also present awards to the winners.
Adventure Activities in Thano
Alongside the marathon, the administration is also hosting adventure sports in Thano:

Hot Air Balloon rides will be organized at the Government Inter College, Thano.

Paragliding activities will take place in Thano village from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
These activities aim to promote adventure tourism in the region and provide young people with opportunities to engage in outdoor and fitness-oriented events.
The district administration has appealed to residents and participants to join the celebrations and contribute to making the Statehood Silver Jubilee memorable.
