Dehradun District Administration to Organize Doon Marathon, Hot Air Balloon and Paragliding on 7 November as Part of Statehood Silver Jubilee Celebrations

DEHRADUN: As part of the ongoing events marking the Silver Jubilee of Uttarakhand’s Statehood, the Dehradun district administration will organize a series of exciting activities on 7 November 2025. The events include the Doon Marathon, Hot Air Balloon rides, and Paragliding, bringing together fitness, adventure and community participation.

Doon Marathon at 6:30 AM

The Doon Marathon will begin at 6:30 AM from the Pavilion Ground, where District Magistrate Savin Bansal will flag off the run.

  • The marathon route will start at Pavilion Ground, proceed up to NIVH on Rajpur Road, and return to the starting point.

  • Around 700 young participants have registered for the marathon this year.

  • After the race concludes, the District Magistrate will also present awards to the winners.

Adventure Activities in Thano

Alongside the marathon, the administration is also hosting adventure sports in Thano:

  • Hot Air Balloon rides will be organized at the Government Inter College, Thano.

  • Paragliding activities will take place in Thano village from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

These activities aim to promote adventure tourism in the region and provide young people with opportunities to engage in outdoor and fitness-oriented events.

The district administration has appealed to residents and participants to join the celebrations and contribute to making the Statehood Silver Jubilee memorable.
