Dehradun: This year, the Independence Day celebrations will be held with grandeur and patriotic fervor at the Parade Ground in Dehradun, hosting the state-level event. The Chief Minister will attend as the chief guest.

The district administration is working diligently to finalize preparations. Acting on the directions of the District Magistrate, Chief Development Officer (CDO) Abhinav Shah inspected the Parade Ground on Wednesday and instructed nodal officers to ensure all arrangements are completed on time.
CDO Shah emphasized that top-notch arrangements must be in place for the main stage, police parade, flag hoisting, freedom fighters, statehood activists, dignitaries, special guests, and media representatives. He directed that special care be taken to avoid any shortcomings.
During the ceremony, the Chief Minister will honor freedom fighters, statehood activists, sportspersons, and police and departmental officials and employees for their outstanding service. The entire program will be broadcast live to ensure wider public participation.
Earlier, Additional District Magistrate (FR) K.K. Mishra briefed nodal officers about their assigned responsibilities and instructed them to complete preparations within the stipulated time frame.
The inspection was attended by City Magistrate Pratyush Singh, SDM Harigir, SDM Arpana Singh, SDM Kumkum Joshi, and senior officials from Public Works, Tourism, Horticulture, Supply, and other related departments.
