Dehradun – The delegation of the 16th Finance Commission, led by Chairman Dr. Arvind Panagariya, was accorded a warm welcome at Raj Bhavan on Monday during their official visit to Uttarakhand. The delegation paid a courtesy call on Governor Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh (Retd), with Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also present to extend his greetings.
As part of their three-day tour of the state, a formal state banquet was hosted in honor of the Commission at Raj Bhavan. The evening featured a vibrant cultural program showcasing the rich folk traditions of Uttarakhand. Folk artists enthralled the guests with captivating performances of traditional dances, offering a colorful glimpse into the cultural heritage of the region.
Also in attendance were the First Lady Gurmeet Kaur, Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, and several other dignitaries, making the evening a memorable celebration of hospitality and culture.
