‘My Dream Uttarakhand’ Campaign Receives Overwhelming Public Response, More Than 2.5 Lakh Students Share Their Vision
Class 11 and 12 students share ideas for Uttarakhand’s future across eight key themes including tourism, employment, education, healthcare, technology and environment
Top 140 ideas to be shortlisted; Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will personally interact with selected students
August 24 is the last date for submitting essays and suggestions
Dehradun: The ‘My Dream Uttarakhand’ campaign, launched at the initiative of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, is receiving an unprecedented response from students across the state. More than 2.5 lakh students have so far submitted their essays, suggestions and ideas through the online portal, sharing their vision for the future of Uttarakhand.
On August 10, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami interacted online with nearly three lakh students of Classes 11 and 12 across the state. During the interaction, he encouraged students to share how they would like to see Uttarakhand develop in the coming years and what kind of state they envision for themselves and future generations.
Following the Chief Minister’s appeal, students from both government and private schools participated enthusiastically in the campaign and submitted their ideas and suggestions.
Students Present Vision Across Eight Key Themes
Under the campaign, students have been invited to share their views on eight major themes, including tourism, employment, social development, forests and environment, education, healthcare and technology.
The submissions cover a wide range of ideas related to creating new employment opportunities, strengthening tourism, improving education and healthcare services, protecting the environment, promoting technological innovation and accelerating inclusive social development.
The government has stated that these submissions are more than just essays. They represent the aspirations, priorities and vision of Uttarakhand’s young generation for building a developed and progressive state.
Top 140 Ideas to Be Selected
As part of the campaign, 140 of the best ideas will be shortlisted from the entries received. The selected students will get an opportunity to discuss their ideas with senior government officials and secretaries.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will also personally interact with the selected students and listen to their vision, experiences, expectations and ideas for the future of Uttarakhand.
Selected students will also receive support for career development and preparation for competitive examinations, along with other awards. Students submitting their essays through the portal are also being provided digital certificates.
Strong Participation from Hills and Plains
The campaign has witnessed extensive participation from students across both the hill and plain regions of Uttarakhand. Students from government as well as private schools are actively contributing their ideas to the initiative.
Campaign Coordinator Dr. Rahul Agrawal said the initiative is an innovative effort to directly connect the younger generation with the state’s development process and the broader concept of policymaking.
He said entries are continuing to pour in from different parts of the state and that August 24 has been fixed as the last date for submitting essays.
Initiative to Give Youth a Role in Policymaking
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is personally reviewing the campaign on a regular basis. The government’s objective is to ensure that the younger generation is not merely a beneficiary of development schemes but also becomes an active partner in shaping the vision of a ‘Developed Uttarakhand’ and contributing to future policies and action plans.
The Chief Minister will personally review the useful, practical and innovative suggestions received from students. Efforts will also be made to explore the possibility of incorporating relevant ideas into state policies and future development plans.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said:
“Our students are not only the future of Uttarakhand; their ideas have the potential to give a new direction to Uttarakhand even today. Through ‘My Dream Uttarakhand’, we are listening to the thoughts of the younger generation. Good and practical suggestions from our youth will be given a place in the state’s development. Our resolve is to ensure that young people also become active participants in turning the Uttarakhand they dream of into reality.”
With this initiative, students across Uttarakhand have received a direct platform to communicate their ideas, aspirations and expectations to the government. The participation of more than 2.5 lakh students reflects the growing enthusiasm of the state’s younger generation to contribute actively to the development and future of Uttarakhand.
