DEHRADUN: The online registration process for the Char Dham and Hemkund Sahib Yatra 2025 commenced on Thursday, receiving an enthusiastic response from devotees. By 5 pm, the total number of registrations had surged past 1.65 lakh, reflecting the eagerness of devotees to participate in the sacred journey.
In a bid to enhance convenience for pilgrims, the Uttarakhand government initiated the registration process 40 days before the Yatra’s scheduled commencement on 30 April. Devotees can complete their registration online via the official website of the Uttarakhand Tourism Department: https://registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in. The process mandates Aadhaar card verification, ensuring a seamless experience for travelers.
To further facilitate the process, additional registration centres will be established in key locations such as Haridwar and Rishikesh, as well as along the pilgrimage routes. During the initial 15 days of the Yatra, these centres will operate 24/7 to assist travelers.
Devotees planning to visit Kedarnath or Badrinath by helicopter will be required to register beforehand, as helicopter tickets will not be issued without registration, For further information, devotees can contact toll-free numbers 0135-1364 or alternate numbers 0135-2559898 and 0135-2552627. Those travelling by private vehicles will be required to ensure that they carry complete vehicle documents and details of driver accompanying the vehicles.
Officials claim that offline registration arrangements will be made once the Yatra begins or about 10 days before the Yatra begins.
A Token System for convenience will be introduced this year for crowd management and to ensure smooth pilgrimage experience.
It may be recalled that Char Dham Yatra-2025 will begin on 30 April. The portals of Gangotri and Yamunotri will open on 30 April, followed by Kedarnath on 2 May and Badrinath Dham on 4 May.
