From a religious point of view, it is a custom to perform Shradh Karma during Pitru Paksha for the peace of ancestors. Every year, Pitru Paksha begins from the full moon of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month, which lasts till the new moon of Krishna Paksha of Ashwin month. It is considered important for the ancestors to remain happy. It is believed that if the ancestors are happy, then the blessings of happiness, prosperity and growth are received.

this year Pitru Paksha will begin on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. Pitru Paksha will end on October 02, 2024, the new moon day of Krishna Paksha.

Pitru Paksha starts from Tuesday, September 17, 2024, Shradh of Purnima will start from 11:30 am and the next day Shradh of Purnima will continue till 8:30 am.
The Shradh of Pratipada will start after 8:00 pm on Wednesday, 18 September.
