In the “Shailesh Matiyani State Educational Award” felicitation ceremony, Governor Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh (retd), Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat felicitated the teachers selected for the Shailesh Matiyani State Educational Awards in the year 2023. In the felicitation ceremony organized at the Raj Bhavan on the occasion of Teachers’ Day, awards were given to 19 teachers selected for the year 2023.

Governor Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh (Retd), the chief guest of this program, congratulated and wished the teachers who received the award. He said that teachers who have made a significant contribution to improving the quality of school education in difficult circumstances and remote areas are truly worthy of respect. He said, “I express my gratitude to you on behalf of the people of the state for your services and commitment in the field of education.”

The Governor said that the place of the Guru is the highest. The excellent teachers selected for the State Educational Award are a source of inspiration for other teachers. He said that on this day, especially, every person definitely remembers his student life and also remembers his teachers. Remembering his Gurus, the Governor said that the knowledge given by the Gurus still guides and inspires.

The Governor said that teachers have an important role in society and nation building. He said that by 2047, teachers will play an important role in making India a world leader and a developed India. He told to the teachers that the responsibility of the all-round development of children is on all of your shoulders. He said that in the present times, it is important to adopt new technology along with paying special attention to quality education.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, while wishing all the teachers on Teacher’s Day, said that this day is a day to show respect to the teachers. The teachers being honored today have worked to spread knowledge in the society and shape the lives of the students with their experience and guidance. Guru has the highest place in Indian culture. The teacher works to guide his student in every situation. It is the Guru who removes the ignorance of darkness with his light.

The Chief Minister said that the Guru-Shishya tradition is mentioned in ancient history. The teachers who are being honored with the Shailesh Matiyani State Educational Excellence Award will inspire other people as well and are role models for the society. Along with imparting education, the work of the Guru is also to build the personality of his disciple, discipline and awaken feelings towards the society. Moral education is needed in the present times. Gurus also have the responsibility to reawaken the values ​​​​that are gradually disappearing.

The Chief Minister said that the role of teachers has increased further in the digital age. In the era of technological development and globalization, teachers work to connect students with culture. He said that the state government will provide all possible help to teachers in the development of the state and in building the future of the children. He said that the state government has taken many historic decisions in the field of education. A favorable environment is being created for teachers in the state.

The Chief Minister said that special schemes have been started for the training and skill development of teachers. Continuous work is going on to connect teachers with innovation. He said that the teachers of the state are playing a leading role in every field. Even during the Corona epidemic, teachers have carried out their duties with full dedication. On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced to increase the amount received under the Shailesh Matiyani Award from ten thousand to 20 thousand rupees.

Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat wished all the teachers present on Teacher’s Day. He said that due to the tireless efforts of all, the level of education in the state has improved. On this occasion, he gave information about the work and innovations being done by the Education Department.

Secretary School Education Ravinath Raman welcomed the people present in the felicitation ceremony and gave detailed information about the felicitation ceremony. Director General School Education Banshidhar Tiwari expressed his gratitude. Secretary Sanskrit Education Deepak Kumar, Additional Secretary Education Ranjana Rajguru, other senior officials of the Education Department and awardee teachers and their families were present in the program.
