DEHRADUN: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday reviewed the pending cases related to residual assets and liabilities between Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand at the Secretariat. During the meeting, the Chief Minister instructed officials to expedite the progress on matters where consensus was already achieved in previous meetings and to coordinate closely with Uttar Pradesh officials to ensure their early resolution.
The Chief Minister also stated that he would soon hold a meeting with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to resolve the remaining issues at the highest level.
Key points shared in the meeting:
Following the last CM-level dialogue, water sports activities have been permitted in the reservoirs and canals situated in Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar districts.
The Uttar Pradesh Irrigation Department has paid ₹57.87 crore towards outstanding electricity bills.
The Uttar Pradesh Fisheries Corporation has paid ₹3.98 crore to the Uttarakhand Fisheries Development Agency.
Partial settlement of dues has been made to the Uttarakhand Forest Development Corporation.
Outstanding amounts owed to the Transport Corporation have also been cleared.
A decision has been taken to dispose of the assets under the Housing Development Council.
Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, Principal Secretaries R.K. Sudhanshu and R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretary Dr. Neeraj Kherwal, along with officials from the concerned departments, were present in the meeting.
