DEHRADUN: Due to continuous heavy rainfall and a red alert issued by the Meteorological Department, the Dehradun district administration has taken precautionary measures to ensure the safety of children. As per an order released on Tuesday morning (2 September 2025), all government, non-government, private, and aided schools, along with Anganwadi centers in the district, will remain closed for the day.
The decision comes after the weather department warned of heavy to very heavy rainfall in Dehradun and several other districts of Uttarakhand.
Parents have been urged not to send children outdoors unnecessarily and to stay updated with official weather advisories.
