‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ to Be Held from September 15 to October 18 in Dehradun
Campaign to focus on cleanliness, health, environment, innovation and active public participation
Dehradun:
The ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ will be organised on a large scale in Dehradun from September 15 to October 18, 2026, with the objective of encouraging citizens to actively participate in activities related to public service, cleanliness, health, environmental conservation, innovation and nation-building, alongside government welfare schemes and development initiatives.
A meeting to finalise preparations for the campaign was held at the Collectorate auditorium on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Dehradun District Magistrate Dr Ashish Chauhan. Officials of various line departments discussed the campaign framework and were issued necessary directions for coordinated and time-bound implementation.
Special programmes to be organised under multiple themes
The campaign will feature programmes based on themes such as ‘Bharat 2047’, ‘Seva Aur Sapna’, ‘Namo 25 Gatha’, ‘Aangan Ka Utsav’, ‘25 Saal-25 Kahaniyan’ and ‘Jan Kalyan Samvad’.
Essay and painting competitions on the theme of ‘Viksit Bharat’ will be organised in educational institutions. Under ‘Namo 25 Gatha’, inspirational multilingual plays will also be staged to connect students and citizens with the larger vision of nation-building.
Intensive cleanliness drives across public institutions
During the first phase of the campaign, intensive cleanliness drives will be conducted at government offices, schools, colleges, urban local bodies, hospitals, religious places and gram panchayats.
Activities promoting environmental conservation will also be organised. Arrangements will additionally be made for the distribution of books related to the life and contributions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Focus on innovation, technology and sports for youth
To encourage youth participation, the campaign will feature hackathons, innovation challenges and short-film making competitions. These activities are aimed at promoting creativity, technological skills and innovation among young people.
The Sports and Youth Welfare Department will organise a grand relay marathon on October 7 as part of ‘Seva Jyoti Yatra Diwas’, with directions to ensure maximum participation from the general public.
Uttarakhand’s development journey to be showcased
The ‘Rangoli Rashtra’ programme on September 17 will showcase the cultural heritage and development journey of India and Uttarakhand through large-scale rangoli displays.
From October 7 to 17, the ‘Pragati Ke 25 Stambh’ programme will highlight major development initiatives through projection mapping, light shows and cultural performances.
Projects including the Kedarnath-Badrinath reconstruction works, Mans Khand Temple Mala Mission, Rishikesh-Karnaprayag railway project, Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, Lakshwar and Jamrani dams will be showcased as part of the programme.
‘Project 25-25-25’ to encourage citizens to dedicate 25 minutes daily to the nation
A key component of the campaign will be ‘Project 25-25-25’, under which citizens will be encouraged to dedicate at least 25 minutes every day to the nation by participating in activities such as cleanliness drives, tree plantation and digital literacy initiatives.
Multipurpose and medical camps will also be organised. Artificial limbs will be distributed to persons with disabilities, while blood donation camps and fruit distribution drives for patients in hospitals will also be conducted.
Gandhi Jayanti to promote Swadeshi and ‘Vocal for Local’
On October 2, the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, citizens will be encouraged to take a pledge to adopt Swadeshi and Khadi.
Schools will organise Fit India activities, along with awareness campaigns promoting the ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative.
District Magistrate Dr Ashish Chauhan directed all concerned departments to ensure timely preparation, effective implementation and wide publicity of the campaign. He stressed the importance of inter-departmental coordination and maximum public participation to transform the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ into a meaningful mass campaign.
Chief Development Officer Abhinav Shah, Additional District Magistrate (Administration) Smrita Parmar, District Information Officer Priyanka Joshi and district-level officers from various departments were present at the meeting.
