Three Uttarakhand NCC Cadets Conquer Mount Everest, Inspire the Nation

No Dream Is Too Big When Fueled By Faith & Hard Work.

Dehradun:  In a remarkable display of courage, determination, and resilience, three young cadets from the National Cadet Corps (NCC) in Uttarakhand have achieved the extraordinary by successfully summiting Mount Everest, the tallest peak in the world. Their historic ascent on May 18, 2025, stands as a powerful testament to the idea that no dream is too big when fueled by faith and hard work.

The triumphant cadets – Cadet Virendra Samant (29 Uttarakhand Battalion, Dehradun), Cadet Mukul Bangwal (4 Uttarakhand Battalion, Pauri), and Cadet Sachin Kumar (3 Uttarakhand Battalion, Uttarkashi) – have not only showcased individual bravery but also reinforced the message that the youth of India, when determined, can overcome any obstacle.

“This isn’t just our victory; it belongs to every young dreamer in the country,” said Cadet Virendra Samant. “The journey was filled with challenges, but our faith in ourselves, our team, and our goal kept us going.”

Organized by the NCC, the expedition aimed to inspire youth across the nation to embrace adventure, develop leadership, and cultivate self-reliance. Throughout their ascent, the cadets faced extreme weather, grueling conditions, and physical and mental exhaustion. Yet, through relentless effort and strong camaraderie, they reached the pinnacle of success.

“At NCC, we believe true leadership emerges in the face of adversity. These young mountaineers have exemplified that belief through their actions,” said Major General Rohan Anand, Sena Medal, Additional Director General of Uttarakhand NCC.

Their achievement, supported by experienced NCC mountaineers, instructors, and guides, also received crucial assistance from the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board, the Indian Army Mountaineering Team, and several local organizations.

“This accomplishment belongs not only to these brave cadets but to the entire nation,” added Major General Anand. “Their courage and commitment reflect the spirit of India’s youth – united, driven, and ready to scale any height.”

As these cadets return home to Uttarakhand, they will be honored as national heroes. Their daring expedition will inspire countless young Indians to pursue their dreams fearlessly and believe that no goal is beyond reach.
