Immediate financial aid of ₹5 lakh provided to affected families, directs officials to speed up relief and restoration works
Chamoli: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday visited the disaster-affected Tharali region of Chamoli district and met the affected families. He also inspected relief camps set up in Kulsari and assured the victims of all possible assistance.
The Chief Minister said, “In this hour of crisis, the state government stands firmly with the affected families. No stone will be left unturned in providing relief and carrying out rescue operations.”
Financial Assistance to Affected Families
CM Dhami distributed immediate financial assistance cheques of ₹5 lakh each to the families whose houses were completely damaged and to the kin of the deceased. He also directed officials to make proper arrangements for the rehabilitation of displaced families.
Inspection of Relief Camps
During his visit to the relief camp set up in Kulsari, the CM interacted with the victims and reviewed the facilities being provided. He instructed officials to ensure that no affected person faces any inconvenience and that adequate arrangements for food, shelter, and medical aid are made available.
Relief and Restoration Efforts
The CM directed officials to carry out relief and restoration works on a war footing and to monitor the situation round-the-clock.
# District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari informed that affected families have been safely accommodated in relief camps.
# 12 people are staying at the Government Polytechnic Kulsari, 36 at the Primary School Chepado, and 20 at the Primary School in Upper Market Tharali.
# Adequate arrangements for food, shelter, and medical care have been made at these camps.
# Roads damaged in the disaster have been restored, while efforts to repair electricity supply lines and drinking water pipelines are underway.
# Debris clearance and assessment of damaged properties are also in progress.

During the inspection, CM Dhami was accompanied by Tharali MLA Bhupal Ram Tamta, District Panchayat President Daulat Singh Bisht, Superintendent of Police Sarvesh Panwar, Project Director Anand Singh, Chief Medical Officer Abhishek Gupta, SDM Sohan Singh Rangad, SDM Pankaj Bhatt, CO Amit Kumar Saini, and other officials.
