Addressing the Proceedings Release Ceremony of the 10th World Ayurveda Congress & Arogya Expo at a hotel in Old Rajpur on Monday, the Chief Minister said the event was a matter of great pride for Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, enhancing the global identity of Ayurveda. He described the released proceedings as a valuable compilation of knowledge, experience, and research that will guide future policymaking and public health initiatives.
Highlighting Ayurveda’s holistic approach, the Chief Minister said it has been safeguarding human health since ancient times, addressing not only external ailments but also mental and sensory well-being. Uttarakhand’s mountainous regions, rich in medicinal herbs, have played a significant role in strengthening Ayurveda’s foundations.
Commending the efforts of the Ministry of AYUSH under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he noted that initiatives such as the National AYUSH Mission and Prakriti Parikshan Abhiyan are spreading health awareness across rural areas. Currently, over 300 Ayushman Arogya Kendras are operational in the state, with more than 70 specialists providing consultations through the e-Sanjeevani portal. AYUSH hospitals with 50-bed and 10-bed capacities are being set up in every district.
The Chief Minister further informed that the Uttarakhand AYUSH Policy is accelerating progress in medicine manufacturing, wellness, education, research, and medicinal plant cultivation. In the coming years, 50 new yoga and wellness centers will be established, and AYUSH tele-consultation services will be launched. The state government has also requested the Ministry of AYUSH to establish the All India Institute of Ayurveda in Uttarakhand, which will be a milestone in Ayurveda education and research.
On this occasion, the AYUSH Department’s coffee table book and the poster of Vigyan Bharati’s Vigyan Vidyarthi Manthan competition were unveiled, and several contributors to Ayurveda were felicitated.
