UTTARAKHAND: CM Dhami Virtually Inaugurates Development Projects Worth Over ₹60 Crore in Kotdwar, Including Malan Bridge

Kotdwar (Pauri): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday virtually inaugurated seven key infrastructure projects worth over ₹60 crore in the Kotdwar region. Among these is the much-awaited protective work of the Malan Bridge on the Chillarkhal-Pakharo motor road—a major development welcomed by local residents.

Addressing the public, Chief Minister Dhami highlighted the reconstruction of the Malan Bridge as a testament to the state government’s visionary leadership and commitment to regional development. He noted that the completion of the bridge will significantly improve traffic flow in Kotdwar and surrounding rural areas, while also giving a boost to local economic activities.

The Chief Minister emphasized the ongoing efforts under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to strengthen infrastructure across Uttarakhand. These efforts span key sectors such as education, healthcare, drinking water, and road, rail, and air connectivity.

He also shared updates on major upcoming projects, including:

Construction of a ₹135 crore sewerage treatment plant in Kotdwar under the Namami Gange Yojana

Development of a four-lane bypass and the Kotdwar-Najibabad double lane road at a cost of ₹691 crore

Upgradation of the Kotdwar-Pauri-Srinagar road to double lane standards

Additional development initiatives mentioned by the Chief Minister include the renovation of Kotdwar Railway Station, the introduction of a new train service from Siddhbali-Kotdwar to Delhi, construction of a new hospital and bus terminal, and the establishment of a Kendriya Vidyalaya in the area.

Sukhraon Bridge (385m span) – ₹4.50 crore

Double-lane Bridge near BEL (300m span) – ₹2.10 crore

Grastonganj Bridge (90m span) – ₹2.37 crore

Gular Bridge (100m span) – ₹2.70 crore

RCC Girder Bridge (100m span) – ₹4.87 crore

Chillarkhal-Sigaddi-Kotdwar-Pakharo Motor Road (Km 1–12) – ₹18.25 crore

Pipeline installation under the Sigaddi Drinking Water Scheme

Repair and protection work on the Malan Feeder

Maintenance of siphon and related structures on the Left Malan Canal

Local MLA and Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan expressed her gratitude to the Chief Minister, applauding the rapid completion of the Malan Bridge and the consistent pace of development in the region.

The event was also attended by several prominent figures including Mayor Shailendra Singh Rawat, BJP District President Raj Gaurav Nautiyal, and District Magistrate Dr. Ashish Chauhan, along with other senior officials and public representatives.
