Chief Secretary and Disaster Management Secretary Review Relief and Rescue Operations from Control Room

Dehradun. In view of the serious situation created by the continuous heavy rainfall across Uttarakhand, Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan and Secretary of Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Vinod Kumar Suman visited the State Emergency Operations Center on Tuesday and reviewed relief, rescue, and rehabilitation efforts being carried out in the affected areas.

During his inspection, the Chief Secretary gathered detailed updates from officials of various departments and district administrations. He noted that the incessant rains had caused widespread damage to roads, bridges, and public infrastructure, severely disrupting normal life in several districts.

The Chief Secretary directed all concerned departments to work in full coordination and immediately:

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป Re-establish drinking water, electricity, and telecommunication services on priority.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป Ensure timely supply of medical services and essential relief materials to all disaster-hit areas.

He further informed that Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is personally monitoring the disaster situation. The Chief Minister has already conducted on-ground inspections of Maldevta and Kesarwala in Dehradun district, reviewed relief and rescue operations, and assured all possible assistance to the affected citizens.

The Chief Secretary emphasized that government and administrative teams are actively engaged in field operations. With water levels rising in several rivers, he instructed special vigilance in sensitive and vulnerable areas. He directed officials to strengthen inter-departmental coordination so that the problems of affected citizens can be resolved without delay.

Meanwhile, Secretary of Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Vinod Kumar Suman, along with his team, reached the control room early Tuesday morning and closely monitored the operations. He said that the State Emergency Operations Center is in constant contact with all districts, ensuring real-time updates on waterlogging, landslides, road blockages, and other emergencies, so that immediate action can be taken.

He added that priority has been given to drinking water, electricity, communication, and medical services. Vulnerable locations have been identified, and continuous monitoring is being carried out. Relief and rescue teams have been instructed to work with full capacity and urgency.

Additional Chief Executive Officer (Administration) Anand Swaroop, DIG (Implementation) Rajkumar Negi, Joint Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Obaidullah Ansari, and experts from USDMA were also present in the control room to ensure seamless coordination between departments.

Secretary Vinod Kumar Suman informed that, as per the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, relief and rescue operations are being conducted on a war footing. People stranded in flood-prone and vulnerable areas have been safely evacuated and shifted to secure shelters. Search operations for missing persons are being carried out with full strength. District administrations are ensuring that all essential needs of the affected citizens are properly taken care of.

Both the Chief Secretary and the Disaster Management Secretary reiterated the governmentโ€™s commitment to extend every possible help to the people of Uttarakhand during this natural calamity.
