Dehradun | Large-Scale Organization of Multi-Purpose Camps under “Government at the Doorstep of Every Citizen” Campaign
Chief Development Officer (CDO) Abhinav Shah informed that, as per the directions issued by the Secretary, Government of Uttarakhand, multi-purpose camps are being organized across the state under the “Government at the Doorstep of Every Citizen” campaign at the level of Nyaya Panchayats and Gram Panchayats. The primary objective of this campaign is to create awareness among the general public about various welfare schemes of the Central and State Governments, extend benefits to eligible beneficiaries, and ensure swift and effective resolution of public grievances.
The campaign is being implemented for a duration of 45 days starting from December 17, 2025. During this period, multi-purpose camps will be organized in the Nyaya Panchayats of each tehsil for at least 2 to 3 working days every week.
The CDO stated that the presence of officials from all concerned departments has been made mandatory in these camps. These include the Revenue Department, Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Social Welfare, Ex-Servicemen Welfare, Women Empowerment and Child Development, Food and Civil Supplies, Home Department, Labour Department, Medical Health and Family Welfare, AYUSH, Animal Husbandry/Dairy/Fisheries, Energy, Cooperation, Public Works Department/PMGSY, Education, Drinking Water, Irrigation, Forest, Skill Development and Employment, Disaster Management (District/Tehsil level), as well as banking and financial institutions.
He further directed that detailed information about Central and State Government schemes must be provided to people attending the camps, and eligible individuals should be benefited on the spot. Public grievances raised during the camps will be resolved at the venue itself. After the camps, joint visits will be conducted in nearby villages to facilitate application filling for eligible beneficiaries, ensuring that no deserving person is deprived of the benefits of any scheme.
It was also instructed that prior to the camps, officials must visit all Gram Panchayats and revenue villages under the concerned Nyaya Panchayat and complete the application process for eligible beneficiaries in advance, so that saturation of benefits can be ensured on the day of the camp.
For effective implementation, the Block Development Officer (BDO) will appoint an Assistant Nodal Officer for each Nyaya Panchayat and a Nodal Officer/official for each Gram Panchayat. The BDO and the concerned Tehsildar will ensure wide publicity of the programme in every Gram Panchayat.
Information at the block level will be compiled by the respective Block Development Officers, while at the district level, the data will be consolidated by the District Development Officer, Dehradun. The District Social Welfare Officer, Dehradun has been directed to ensure all necessary arrangements for the successful organization of these multi-purpose camps.
This campaign is considered a significant step towards strengthening direct interaction between the administration and the public, ensuring that welfare schemes effectively reach the last mile.
