CM to Attend, Martyrs’ Families to be Honored
Dehradun: Kargil Vijay Diwas will be observed as ‘Shaurya Diwas’ across Uttarakhand with full dignity and grandeur on 26 July 2025. The state-level main event will be organized at Gandhi Park, Dehradun, where Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will participate and honor the families of Kargil martyrs, along with brave women and mothers of the state.
In preparation for the event, a coordination meeting was held on Thursday under the direction of District Magistrate Savin Bansal. The meeting was chaired by Additional District Magistrate (FR) K.K. Mishra, and attended by officials of various departments to finalize logistical and ceremonial arrangements.
Key Highlights and Arrangements
Venue: All programs will take place at Gandhi Park, Dehradun.
Felicitation Ceremony: Chief Minister will honor families of soldiers martyred in the Kargil War.
Transport Arrangements: The Sainik Welfare Department and Transport Department will ensure proper transportation for martyrs’ families, Veer Naris, and ex-servicemen.
Cleanliness and Public Amenities: The Municipal Corporation has been instructed to carry out a special cleanliness campaign, and arrange mobile toilets and drinking water in and around the venue.
Traffic and Parking: The SP Traffic will prepare a comprehensive traffic and parking plan to ensure smooth movement on the day of the event.
Stage and Event Setup: The Sainik Welfare Department will ensure proper tenting, barricading, seating, stage setup, decorations, and refreshments, in line with official standards.

On the eve of 25 July: Patriotic songs will be broadcast at major intersections of the city from 5 PM onwards, creating a patriotic ambiance.
The Culture Department will organize cultural performances, and the Education Department will conduct:
Painting competitions for junior students
Essay competitions for senior students
Lists of winners will be provided at the venue for on-stage recognition.
