Dhami highlighted that the last three years have been dedicated to service, good governance, development, and public welfare, emphasizing that a fit and healthy Uttarakhand is key to a prosperous state. He appealed to the youth to devote at least 30 minutes daily to physical exercise, eat nutritious food, and abstain from harmful addictions.
“The Fit India Movement initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not just a campaign; it’s a way to build a healthy, strong, and vibrant nation. A fit Uttarakhand will pave the way for a prosperous state where every individual can contribute to progress,” said Dhami.
Reflecting on the state’s achievements, the Chief Minister celebrated Uttarakhand’s successful hosting of the 38th National Games, where athletes from the state secured 103 medals, placing seventh in the medal tally. The government’s decision to double the prize money for medal winners and provide out-of-turn employment opportunities to athletes showcased its dedication to sports and youth empowerment.
To nurture budding talent, initiatives like the Mukhyamantri Udyaman Khiladi Yojana and the Mukhyamantri Protsahan Yojana have been introduced, ensuring that young athletes receive proper support, including sports kits, travel allowances, and financial assistance in case of injury. International-level sports facilities and advanced equipment are also being developed to prepare athletes for the Olympic level.
The celebration culminated with a cycle rally from the Chief Minister’s Camp Office in Dehradun, where Dhami himself led the way, encouraging others to adopt fitness as a lifestyle.
