UTTARAKHAND NEWS: CM Dhami’s big announcements on the occasion of State Foundation Day

DEHRADUN: While addressing the program on State Foundation Day organized at the Police Line on Saturday, 9 November, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami made several important announcements. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that all villages with a population of 50 and above in the state will be connected by road by 2030. Along with this, a comprehensive policy will be made by taking various departments together for effective prevention of road accidents. The Chief Minister said that valley bridges will be installed to immediately smoothen the traffic in case of roads and bridges being washed away due to disaster in the state. To ensure the overall development of women in the state of Uttarakhand, along with notifying the women policy as soon as possible, a specific “youth policy” will also be made for the all-round development of the youth. Similarly, the players of Uttarakhand who win medals in the upcoming National Games will be provided an additional amount equal to the amount fixed for the prize by the state government. The Chief Minister said that ‘National Uttarakhandi Migrant Day’ will be organized every year in the month of November for the migrants living in other states of the country outside Uttarakhand. Similarly, ‘International Uttarakhandi Migrant Day’ will be organized every year in the month of January for the migrant Uttarakhandis living abroad. A special process will be created to determine the responsibility of contractors and engineers for ensuring the quality of roads. Action will be initiated to provide ‘Mukhyamantri Mother-Child Incentive Assistance’ to women for the care of mother and child during delivery.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami started his address by wishing the State Foundation Day and paying tribute to the deceased in the bus accident in Almora district recently. The Chief Minister also remembered former Prime Minister, Bharat Ratna late Atal Bihari Vajpayee and said that the dream of establishing the state of Uttarakhand came true during the Prime Ministership of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. And now the state of Uttarakhand is moving towards becoming a leading state of the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Under the guidance of PM Modi, the infrastructure of Uttarakhand is getting stronger in all areas. Roads are being constructed from the city to the remote mountain villages, along with starting heli services for various districts, various airports and heliports are being developed.

The Chief Minister said that the dream of reaching the hills by rail is going to come true soon through the Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail line. Along with setting up medical colleges in various districts of the state, a satellite center of AIIMS Rishikesh is also being constructed. Uttarakhand is rapidly progressing in various sectors including tourism, agriculture, horticulture and industry, due to which business, self-employment and job opportunities are being created on a large scale in the state. The government has worked to increase the opportunities for capital investment in the state by making many new policies including industrial policy, logistics policy, startup policy. Similarly, an “Industrial Smart City” is going to be established soon in Khurpiya of Udham Singh Nagar. Therefore, the day is not far when we will be able to eradicate the problem of migration from the state by increasing employment opportunities in the state.

CM Dhami said that along with ensuring the development of Uttarakhand, the government has also taken many tough and historic decisions in the interest of the state. In this sequence, the UCC law was passed, along with the country’s toughest anti-copy law and anti-conversion law, as well as anti-riot law has been implemented. He said that while on the one hand the government has done the work of freeing more than 5000 acres of government land from illegal occupation across the state by running a campaign against encroachment. At the same time, it has also done the historic work of implementing 10 percent horizontal reservation for state agitators and 30 percent for women in government jobs. By making anti-riot law, the state government has told that we will take strict action against those who tamper with the great culture of Devbhoomi. Chief Minister Dhami emphasized that the state government is now going to ensure strict action against those who tamper with the original form of the state by bringing a strict land law in the state soon.

He added that the positive results of these unprecedented works, decisions and efforts being done by the government are also being seen. Uttarakhand has secured the first position in the country in the index of Sustainable Development Goals released by NITI Aayog. Our state has received the category of Achievers in Ease of Doing Business and Leaders in Startup Ranking. Within a year, it has left the national average behind by reducing the unemployment rate by a record 4.4 percent. He said that the silver jubilee year of the establishment of the state starting from today is going to prove to be a historic year in terms of making Uttarakhand the leading state of the country. The government will continue to work with the basic mantra of its “Vikalp Rhit Sankalp” to make Uttarakhand the best state of the country.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami congratulated India’s Chief of Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan, folk singer Pritam Bhartwan, Samaj Sudhakar and spiritual guru Mata Mangala, actor Hemant Pandey and Dr. Mahesh Kudiyal, who were awarded this year’s “Uttarakhand Gaurav Samman Award”, for the award.
