Registration compulsory for pilgrims
Registration for all Char Dham starts on 15 April
Pilgrims can register through website, toll free number or by what’s app.
Uttarkashi: The portals of the Gangotri Dham will be opened on the day of Akshaya Tritiya, 10 May at 12:25 pm. The time of opening the portals of the Gangotri Temple was decided at a meeting held in the office of the Panch Gangotri Temple Committee. Harish Semwal, Chairman and Suresh Semwal, Secretary of the committee told to media about the time fixed for the opening of the portals of Gangotri Temple.
It may be recalled that The Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) has already announced that portals of the Kedarnath Dham will open on Akshaya Tritaya, 10 May at 7 am. The decision was taken in an event at Omkareshwar temple in Ukhimath – the winter abode of the Kedarnath deity. Two days later the doors of Badrinath Dham would open on 12 May at 6 am.
The ceremonial journey of the deity will commence with the departure of the ‘Panchmukhi Doli’ on 6 May, progressing through various stops before reaching Kedarnath Dham in the evening of 9 May.
BKTC chief Ajendra Ajay said, “Preparations for the Char Dham yatra have started with meeting being held at various levels, including with the chief minister, to ensure top-notch facilities for the pilgrims.
A record 54 lakh pilgrims visited the four shrines last year, marking a significant increase from the 44 lakh that visited in 2022. Kedarnath saw the highest footfall with 19.6 lakh pilgrims, followed by Badrinath with 18.3 lakh, Gangotri with 9 lakh and Yamunotri with 7.3 lakh.
Registration is compulsory for the pilgrims to visit Char Dham Yatra. Registration for all Char Dham starts on 15 April. Registration can be done at any of below given links:
