DEHRADUN: Multipurpose Public Hearing Camp Organized in Lakhamandal Under CM’s ‘Durgam Pratham’ Initiative

76 Complaints Addressed in “DM Darbar”, Majority Resolved On the Spot

Dehradun, Lakhamandal | Taking forward the Chief Minister’s visionary “Durgam Pratham” campaign aimed at prioritizing remote and underserved regions, District Magistrate Savin Bansal chaired a multipurpose public hearing camp at Atal Utkrisht Government Inter College, Lakhamandal on Wednesday. Located on the banks of the Yamuna River, this remote area witnessed proactive governance with direct public engagement.

A total of 76 complaints were registered during the “DM Darbar”, the majority of which were resolved immediately, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to effective and transparent service delivery.


Extensive Public Services Delivered On-Site

The camp brought together various departments under one roof, ensuring that essential services and welfare schemes reached the grassroots level.

Healthcare Services:
A total of 591 individuals availed free health checkups through Allopathy, Ayurveda, and Unani treatments. Additionally, 15 Ayushman Cards and 1 Divyang certificate were issued.

Social Welfare:
The department provided 10 old-age pensions, 2 Divyang pensions, 30 assistive devices, 2 wheelchairs, and supportive aids such as waist and knee belts.

Agriculture and Allied Sectors:
Beneficiaries received cheques totaling ₹3.04 lakh from the Agriculture Department, along with the distribution of PM-Kisan funds, farming equipment, fertilizers, and horticultural tools. The Animal Husbandry Department extended free veterinary medicines to 25 livestock farmers.

Labor Department:
Labor cards of 30 workers were registered or renewed, streamlining access to labor welfare schemes.


Focus on Core Infrastructure and Local Issues

Local residents highlighted key concerns, including damaged roads, water scarcity, erratic power supply, blocked irrigation canals, and property damage due to natural disasters. DM Bansal instructed concerned departments to initiate immediate action. In one specific case, related to compensation for Pitambar Dutt, he directed the PWD and District Horticulture Officer to submit a joint report within 10 days.

Speaking at the event, DM Bansal reiterated his commitment to ensuring the last mile delivery of government welfare schemes. He emphasized special focus on women and senior citizens, ensuring their issues are addressed promptly.


Department-Wise Services Delivered

Revenue Department: Issued 10 income, caste, and residence certificates

Panchayati Raj Department: Assisted 75 people with family register copies, birth/death certificates, and ration card services

Industry Department: Distributed tools, seeds, and pesticides to 31 beneficiaries

Child Development Department: Distributed 6 Mahalakshmi kits, 12 Kishori kits, and 9 baby kits

Employment Department: Provided career counseling to 54 youths

Forest Department: Conducted awareness on forest fire prevention


Strong Administrative and Public Participation

The event witnessed active participation from the local community and administration. Among those present were Vice President of the Tribal Advisory Council Geetaram Gaur, Chief Development Officer Abhinav Shah, Joint Magistrate Harshita Singh, SDM Sohan Singh Rangad, and other departmental officers and public representatives. The program was anchored by Lakhamandal Committee President Sushil Gaur.
