CM launched mascot & logo of Mukhyamantri Udyamshala Yojana.
Dehradun – Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday felicitated women self-help groups (SHGs) for their outstanding contributions under the Mukhyamantri Sashakt Bahna Utsav Yojana at the Mukhya Sevak Sadan in the CM’s residence. He also interacted with the women and launched the mascot and logo of the Mukhyamantri Udyamshala Yojana, besides unveiling new products and the official website of the House of Himalayas brand.
The CM said that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, several initiatives such as 33% reservation for women in Parliament and State Assemblies, Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao, Ujjwala Yojana, and Lakhpati Didi schemes have been empowering women and making them self-reliant. “When a woman becomes economically empowered, she uplifts the entire society,” he remarked.
He added that the state government is also continuously working for women’s welfare, ensuring greater participation in education, healthcare, entrepreneurship, and employment. Through the Rural Livelihood Mission, efforts are being made to make rural women self-reliant. Under Mukhyamantri Sashakt Bahna Utsav Yojana and Mukhyamantri Mahila SHG Empowerment Yojana, women are being provided with new opportunities.
The Mukhyamantri Udyamshala Yojana will provide incubation facilities over the next three years to more than 15,000 entrepreneurs, SHGs, and Lakhpati Didis. These include professional skill training, legal and licensing support, co-working spaces, investment assistance, and a strong marketing network from local to global levels.
Highlighting the ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘Local to Global’ initiatives, CM Dhami said the House of Himalayas umbrella brand has been created to fulfil the vision of Lakhpati Didis and give global recognition to local products. At present, 35 high-quality products are available under the brand, which will soon be exported to other countries. Currently, 68,000 SHGs with nearly 5 lakh women are running businesses in the state.
Since the launch of Mukhyamantri Sashakt Bahna Utsav Yojana in 2023, women have set up more than 27,000 stalls at various events, achieving sales of over ₹7 crore. More than 1.63 lakh women have become Lakhpati Didis. To boost processing and marketing of SHG products, 49 growth centres have been established along with 33 nano-packaging units, 17 Saras Centres, 3 state-level marketing hubs, and 8 bakery units. Under the One Station, One Product scheme, dedicated sales counters for SHG products have been set up at Dehradun and Haridwar railway stations.
