Dehradun: Heavy rainfall has caused severe destruction across Dehradun and several districts of Uttarakhand, prompting immediate intervention by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. On Tuesday night, the Chief Minister held discussions with Secretary of Disaster Management and Rehabilitation, Vinod Kumar Suman, to assess the situation. He directed that relief and rescue operations be carried out on a war footing and assured that every affected family would receive timely assistance.
The Chief Minister emphasized that finding missing persons, providing immediate relief, and addressing the needs of disaster-hit citizens must remain the top priorities. He warned officials against any laxity and instructed them to remain present in the affected areas to directly resolve people’s grievances. In view of the Meteorological Department’s alert, he also ordered heightened vigilance across all districts.
To ensure effective coordination, CM Dhami directed the State Emergency Operations Center to maintain round-the-clock monitoring of the situation and work closely with district administrations and concerned departments.
