Chief Minister Dhami Launches ₹77.25 Crore Development Projects in Almora, Makes Major Announcements for Ranikhet

Tarikhet (Almora): Under the “Government for the People, at the Doorstep of the People” campaign, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday participated in a large multi-purpose camp organized at Tarikhet in Almora district. During the event, the Chief Minister interacted directly with local residents, reviewed departmental stalls, and ensured on-the-spot resolution of public grievances while extending benefits of various government welfare schemes to eligible beneficiaries.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Dhami inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 32 development projects worth approximately ₹77.25 crore in Almora district. These include the foundation stone for 9 schemes costing ₹47.85 crore and the inauguration of 23 completed schemes valued at ₹29.40 crore. The projects aim to strengthen infrastructure and improve public facilities across the region.
The Chief Minister also announced several key initiatives for the overall development of the Ranikhet Assembly constituency. Major announcements included the construction of embankments and new pedestrian pathways along the Gagas and Ramganga rivers in Bhikiyasain block, establishment of mini-stadiums in Government Inter Colleges at Devlikhet, Chaunliya, Khirkhet, and Bhujan, and the upgradation of the Sanna irrigation lifting scheme. Additionally, ₹1 crore was sanctioned for the construction of an NCC ground/stadium in Ranikhet, along with plans for the expansion and beautification of Ranijheel and the construction of a helipad in the constituency.

Addressing thousands of villagers present at the camp, Chief Minister Dhami emphasized that the state government is committed to making governance accessible at the grassroots level. He said that administrative services are increasingly being made available online, while multi-purpose camps are being organized regularly to ensure swift, on-site resolution of public issues. He urged citizens to actively participate in the Gram Panchayat-level camps, share their concerns openly, and contribute suggestions to enable efficient governance.
The Chief Minister stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttarakhand is witnessing unprecedented development across all sectors. Infrastructure related to roads, education, healthcare, and drinking water is being strengthened even in the remotest hill villages. He reiterated the government’s resolve to establish Devbhoomi Uttarakhand as the spiritual capital of the world, while preserving the sanctity of the region and reviving and beautifying the ancient temples of Manaskhand.

Highlighting efforts to curb migration from the hills, Chief Minister Dhami said concrete steps are being taken to promote local livelihoods, tourism, and economic activities. These initiatives have yielded encouraging results, with the Migration Prevention Commission reporting a 44 percent increase in reverse migration.
Speaking on women empowerment, the Chief Minister said the government has ensured maximum participation of women across sectors by implementing 30 percent reservation for women in government services. Through focused welfare schemes, women are being made self-reliant, resulting in over 1.68 lakh women achieving ‘Lakhpati Didi’ status, marking a significant milestone in the state’s journey toward women empowerment.
For ensuring safe and adequate drinking water in the Ranikhet region, the Chief Minister informed that the Bhavani Devi Drinking Water Scheme is being constructed at a cost exceeding ₹17 crore, while the Bhatrojkhan Ramganga Pumping Drinking Water Scheme is underway with an investment of ₹5 crore.
The event was attended by Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Ajay Tamta, local MLA Dr. Pramod Nainwal, senior BJP leaders Kailash Pant and Anil Shahi, Block Head Babli Mehra, District Magistrate Anshul Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police Devendra Pincha, Chief Development Officer Ramjisharan Sharma, and BJP District President Ghanshyam Bhatt, along with senior officials and a large number of local residents.
