DEHRADUN: In view of the cloudburst-triggered disaster in the Dharali region of Uttarkashi district, the Health Department is on full alert. On the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, medical services have been strengthened to ensure timely treatment for the injured and affected.
Reserved Medical Facilities in Key Hospitals:
Health Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar informed that hospital beds have been reserved in Dehradun, Rishikesh, and other major medical institutions to accommodate patients from the disaster-affected area:
Doon Medical College Hospital, Dehradun:
150 General Beds
50 ICU Beds
Coronation District Hospital, Dehradun:
80 General Beds
20 ICU Beds
AIIMS Rishikesh:
50 General Beds
20 ICU Beds
Adequate arrangements have been made for doctors, nursing staff, paramedics, and medicine supplies in these hospitals.
Special Focus on Mental Health:
Considering the psychological impact of the disaster, the government has deployed a team of three psychiatrists to Dharali. The team will work in coordination with the local administration to provide counselling and psychological support to affected individuals in relief camps.
24×7 Readiness of Health Services:
Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) in all districts, along with disaster response teams, have been placed on high alert. The 108 ambulance service is also operational round-the-clock.
