Dehradun: The first randomization of polling personnel for the upcoming three-tier panchayat elections in Dehradun district was conducted on July 1. Acting on the instructions of District Election Officer Savin Bansal, the process was carried out under the chairmanship of Deputy District Election Officer and Nodal Officer (Personnel) Abhinav Shah using dedicated software.
From a pool of 14,000 eligible personnel, a total of 7,560 officials, including a 25% reserve, were selected. This includes presiding officers and first polling officers. These teams will serve across 1,090 polling stations in six development blocks of Dehradun district. In the first randomization, 1,512 polling parties were formed, each consisting of five members. Notably, a female employee will also be posted as the second polling officer in each team.
The selected presiding officers will undergo training on July 6, followed by first polling officers on July 7. In the second round of randomization, polling parties will be allotted specific blocks. To ensure transparency, the entire randomization process was video recorded and photographed.
Present on the occasion were District Information Science Officer Ranjit Singh Chauhan, ADIO Ankush Pandey, and DTDO Brijendra Pandey, among others.
