Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, during a high-level review meeting at his official residence on Monday, issued strict directions to identify all landslide, avalanche, and natural disaster-prone zones in the hill state at the earliest. He announced that no new settlements or construction activities will be permitted in these identified sensitive areas.
The Chief Minister emphasized that any form of government or private construction along rivers, streams, and natural water sources will remain strictly prohibited. All district magistrates have been instructed to issue clear orders and ensure regular monitoring of compliance.
CM Dhami warned that officials violating these instructions will face strict disciplinary action. Stressing the need for preventive measures, he said that solid and effective steps must be taken in disaster-sensitive regions to protect public safety.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary R.K. Sudhanshu, R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretary Shailesh Bagauli, Additional Director General of Police A.P. Anshuman, Special Secretary Dr. Parag Madhukar Dhakate, and Additional Secretary Banshidhar Tiwari.
