Strict Action on Disorder at ISBT Area
Illegal Constructions Demolished, Orders Issued to Shift Police Outpost and Streamline Traffic

Dehradun. District Magistrate Savin Bansal conducted an on-site inspection of the Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) area today and carried out a detailed review of traffic management, parking facilities, exit routes, and unauthorized activities. Taking serious note of the prevailing disorder, he issued clear and immediate directions to the concerned departments.
During the inspection, the District Magistrate directed that a well-organized parking facility be developed by laying tiles on the large vacant roadside land near the ISBT flyover towards Haridwar Bypass. This measure aims to ease traffic congestion and provide relief to commuters and the general public.
Expressing strong displeasure over the closure of the designated exit gate meant for buses heading towards Delhi, the District Magistrate instructed the MDDA to open the gate immediately. He also ordered strict action against the concerned ARM for non-compliance with earlier instructions.

The District Magistrate further directed that all unauthorized cuts beneath the flyover be closed and safe, scientifically designed crossovers be developed. Instructions were also issued to create a systematic, color-coded parking arrangement under the flyover and to relocate the police outpost situated near the exit gate.
He ordered the immediate demolition of illegal constructions at the ISBT exit gate to ensure smooth and uninterrupted traffic flow. The Regional Transport Officer (RTO) was directed to take strict and regular action against vehicles illegally parked along the roadside.
Additionally, the District Magistrate instructed the National Highways Authority to develop a tiled parking facility along the National Highway near the ISBT area. Necessary financial approval for this work was granted on the spot.
The District Magistrate made it clear that any form of disorder, encroachment, or traffic obstruction in the ISBT area will not be tolerated. Accountability will be fixed, and stringent action will be taken against officials found negligent in implementing the directives.
Senior Municipal Commissioner of Dehradun Municipal Corporation Namami Bansal, Superintendent of Police (City) Pramod Kumar, City Magistrate Pratyush Singh, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Sadar) Harigiri, Regional Transport Officer Anita Chamola, along with officials from MDDA and the National Highways Authority, were present during the inspection.
