DM’s Public Grievance Redressal Drive Intensifies; 102 Complaints Heard, Several Resolved on the Spot

Dehradun: Inspired by the Chief Minister’s pro-people and solution-oriented governance model, District Magistrate Savin Bansal conducted an extensive public grievance redressal session at the Rishiparna Auditorium on Monday. A total of 102 citizens from various parts of the district presented their issues, many of which were resolved immediately, while directions for prompt action were issued in the remaining cases.

During the session, the District Magistrate addressed grievances related to land disputes, demarcation, family register corrections, income and caste certificates, financial assistance, loan issues, domestic violence, and construction and development concerns. Stressing a people-first approach, he directed officials to ensure time-bound and priority-based redressal of every complaint.

Four women from the Pragati Livelihood Self-Help Group reported that their IDs were misused to obtain a loan of ₹5 lakh. Terming the matter a serious financial fraud, the DM ordered the immediate registration of an FIR.

Laborer Pappu Kumar stated that despite regularly paying his loan installments, the bank issued a notice to auction his property without prior warning.
➤ The DM instructed the Lead District Manager (LDM) to take immediate corrective action.

Ram Ashish from Niranjanpur appealed for a loan waiver. The matter was forwarded for examination.

Sarita Devi of Selakui complained about encroachment on her land and blockage of a road and irrigation canal.
SDM Vikasnagar was directed to conduct an inquiry.

Allegations against the former Gram Pradhan of Maindrath regarding misuse of government properties and irregular construction were taken seriously.
➤ The Chief Development Officer (CDO) was ordered to form an inquiry committee.

Directions were issued to the Municipal Corporation, MNA, SDM, and MDDA to act against illegal encroachments on Reetha Mandi and Sahastradhara Road.

Elderly woman Poonam Joshi reported that her tenant had locked her house and absconded two months ago without paying rent and utility bills.
➤ The City Magistrate was instructed to take immediate action and ensure she regains possession of her property.

Non-provision of sewer connections was also flagged, prompting an investigation order to the Municipal Corporation.

Abhay Arora (69), caring for his disabled wife and son, sought assistance.
➤ The SDM was asked to investigate and submit a report.

Rama sought help for her daughter’s marriage, Rashmi sought financial support for her daughter’s education and her own medical needs, and Renu Singh requested assistance for cancer treatment.
➤ All cases were forwarded for immediate evaluation under relevant welfare schemes.

Sushila, whose house was washed away during heavy rains, said the assistance she received was inadequate.
➤ The DM ordered a site inspection and revision of the relief amount.

Two elderly women from Araghar and Badowala sought help for repairing their dilapidated homes.
➤ The Tehsildar was directed to take necessary action.

Poornakala Khatri, widow of a former soldier, reported that her name was missing from the family register.
➤ The District Panchayat Raj Officer (DPRO) was instructed to resolve the issue immediately.

The DM directed officials to expedite the issuance of Ayush Verma’s survivor certificate.

The DPRO was also asked to resolve a case regarding the non-issuance of a birth certificate without delay.

The Education Officer was instructed to address the issues of boundary wall construction and land record updates at the Boxa Primitive Tribe Adarsh High School.

The SDM was asked to resolve the issue of pending payments for the Chakrata motor road.

The PWD was asked to submit a proposal for issuing road-cutting permission in Dalanwala.

A clear report was sought regarding the incomplete road construction in Ajabpur Kalan.

The program was attended by ADM (FR) K.K. Mishra, SDM Smrita Parmar, SDM Apoorva Singh, SDM Kumkum Joshi, Project Director Vikram Singh, Tehsildar Surendra Singh, District Probation Officer Meena Bisht, along with other district-level officials.
