Civil Services Preliminary Examination to be Held at 32 Centres in Dehradun; 12,545 Candidates to Appear
Examination to be conducted in two shifts on May 24; strict monitoring and security arrangements in place

Dehradun, May 21, 2026 —
The district administration has intensified preparations for the Civil Services Preliminary Examination-2026 scheduled to be held on May 24 across Dehradun district. The examination will be conducted at 32 examination centres in two shifts, with a total of 12,545 candidates expected to appear.
To ensure smooth, fair, transparent and peaceful conduct of the examination, the district administration has put comprehensive arrangements in place and assigned responsibilities at every level.
Following the directions of the District Magistrate, an important review meeting was held on Thursday at the IRDT Auditorium, Survey Chowk, under the chairmanship of Additional District Magistrate (Finance & Revenue) K.K. Mishra. The meeting was attended by zonal magistrates, sector magistrates, police nodal officers, centre superintendents and other concerned officials.
During the meeting, ADM K.K. Mishra issued strict instructions that no negligence in examination management would be tolerated. He directed all zonal and sector magistrates to conduct prior inspections of their allotted examination centres and maintain close coordination with centre administrators to ensure seamless arrangements.
Officials were instructed to thoroughly inspect all essential facilities at examination centres, including jammers, CCTV cameras, face authentication applications, drinking water supply, electricity and other logistical arrangements. The administration has also directed that all centres be completely sanitized a day before the examination to provide candidates with a safe and organized environment.
The examination will be conducted in two shifts. The first shift will be held from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, while the second shift will take place from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM.
To maintain confidentiality and security of the question papers, sealed packets for the first shift will be collected from the treasury’s double-lock system at 7:00 AM, while packets for the second shift will be retrieved at 11:00 AM and dispatched to examination centres under strict security arrangements well before the scheduled time.
Officials have also been instructed to keep their mobile phones active throughout the examination period and share their contact numbers with respective centre administrators to ensure quick coordination in case of any emergency.
ADM Mishra emphasized that the examination must be conducted with complete transparency, discipline and efficiency so that candidates do not face any inconvenience.
The meeting was attended by SP City Praveen Kumar, SDM Yogesh Mehra, SDM Vinod Kumar, SDM Apoorva Singh, SDM Kumkum Joshi, SDM Aparna Dhaudiyal, along with zonal magistrates, sector magistrates, police nodal officers and examination centre administrators.
