Dehradun: As part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) programme being conducted by the Election Commission of India to ensure purification and updation of electoral rolls, Chief Electoral Officer of Uttarakhand, Dr. B.V.R.C. Purushottam, handed over an Enumeration Form to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the Secretariat.
On the occasion, the Chief Electoral Officer briefed the Chief Minister about the ongoing campaign and informed him that the Election Commission of India has launched this special drive to make electoral rolls more accurate, transparent, and error-free. Under the programme, enumeration forms will be distributed to all eligible voters across the state to facilitate verification and updation of voter details.
Dr. Purushottam stated that Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will collect the completed enumeration forms from voters over the next month, up to July 7. This process will help identify and rectify discrepancies related to voter information such as name, address, age, and other details, thereby strengthening the integrity and reliability of the electoral process.
The Chief Electoral Officer appealed to all voters in the state to actively participate in the campaign and submit their enumeration forms within the stipulated timeframe to ensure comprehensive purification and updation of the electoral rolls.
