Mathura Boat Tragedy: 6 Tourists Dead, Several Missing in Yamuna River

Mathura’s Vrindavan witnessed a tragic boat accident in the Yamuna River where 6 tourists died and several are missing. Rescue operations are ongoing as CM Yogi Adityanath and CM Pushkar Singh Dhami express grief.

Vrindavan News: A major boat accident occurred on Friday afternoon in the Mathura district of Vrindavan, when a private steamer carrying tourists capsized in the Yamuna River. The incident caused panic among passengers and nearby locals.

According to initial reports, at least six tourists have been confirmed dead, while several others are still missing. Authorities fear that the death toll may rise as search and rescue operations continue. The victims were reportedly tourists from Punjab who had come to Mathura-Vrindavan for sightseeing and pilgrimage.

Soon after receiving information about the incident, rescue teams, police, and local administration rushed to the spot and launched a search operation. Divers are actively searching for the missing persons in the river.

Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, expressed deep grief over the tragedy and directed officials to reach the site immediately and expedite relief and rescue efforts. He also instructed authorities to ensure proper medical treatment for the injured.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also expressed sorrow over the incident. He paid tribute to the deceased and prayed for peace to the departed souls. He extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and wished strength and courage for them in this difficult time.

CM Dhami also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. Meanwhile, authorities have initiated an investigation into the cause of the accident and are reviewing safety measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
